about the beneficiaries
Kovitz Cares was established in 2020 and seeks to raise funds to assist local charities in helping the people of nearby communities who are most in need of support for food, shelter, education, and more. Comprised of employee volunteers, Kovitz Cares has two key initiatives – organizing group volunteer projects for Kovitz employees and raising funds to donate to selected charities with aligned missions. This year’s leading beneficiary is Lakeview Pantry. Opened in 1970, Lakeview Pantry originated from the efforts of a few dedicated neighbors who wanted to help people in their community who were struggling to secure the food they needed. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Lakeview Pantry responded by providing nearly 200,000 clients throughout Chicago with 4 million meals, in addition to thousands of free mental health and social services. 2020 was a special year for Lakeview Pantry as they celebrated 50 years of feeding hope!
